happy earth day! here’s another quick portrait of a great environmentalist, wangari maathai. she began a movement in kenya to empower women, conserve the environment, and plant over 50,000 trees. she was also the first african woman to receive the nobel peace prize.
in honor of “earth month,” i’m doing a series of quick illustrations of some noteworthy environmentalists. here is john muir, who did so much to preserve the redwoods of northern california. we ♥ you, mr. muir.
